Something curious this way comes
If you’re the curious type and you’ve never visited Atlas Obscura, you’re missing a great opportunity to discover many amazing places and sites throughout the world.
Atlas Obscura is “the definitive guide to the world’s wondrous and curious places.†It’s a collaborative project, and looks to worldwide explorers to share the many amazing or hidden nooks and crannies around the globe. It’s a great site.
One of my favorite places – found on a trip to the American Southwest – is Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks in New Mexico shown above.
Here’s a small sampling of the places that I would like to visit:
Valle dei Mulini
Sorrento, Italy / “Valley of Mills” is a grouping of modern ruins nestled at the bottom of a deep Italian crevasse.
The Many Peculiarities of the Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania / Discover unique artifacts that seldom see the light of day.
The Wahweap Hoodoos
Kanab, Utah / Southern Utah’s “white ghosts” are one of the strangest geological sights.
Maeshowe
Orkney Islands, Scotland / A Neolithic passage, grave and chamber cairn built around 3000 BC.
Leptis Magna
Al Khums, Libya / One of the most complete Roman ruins still standing.
