Namibia’s chirping cheetahs
In 1909, there were nearly 100,000 cheetahs on earth. In 2009, that number has dwindled to approximately 10,000. Human interference has accelerated their decline.
Laurie Marker, founder and Executive Director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, left her native California 19 years ago for Namibia. She has become one of the world’s leading experts on the fastest animal on earth – and their fiercest protector.
Watch this great Nightline video to learn more about the fight to preserve these beautiful and remarkable cats. (Listen closely to hear the cheetahs chirp.)
