Now boarding: Mission to Mars
We have lift-off. Not quite – we have simulated lift-off.
On 31 March 2009, two Europeans are set to join four Russian crew members on a simulated mission to Mars.
In a small step in the direction of Mars, the international crew is embarking on a simulated 105-day flight to test the limits of human tolerance for the isolation and monotony of interplanetary travel.
If space exploration becomes the norm and travel becomes affordable, would you sign up?
