Time for the Trunk Show

what's happening in new york, Elephant Walk, Queens Midtown Tunnel, Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus

The circus is coming to town so that means it’s time for the annual elephant walk from Queens through the Midtown Tunnel, into Manhattan, then west on 34th Street to Madison Square Garden. If you live in New York City and have never witnessed this event, you are missing out on a unique experience.

It’s tonight, monday/23 march, somewhere around 11:30, midnight, 1am, or 1:30 am etc. Depends on the pace. But I can tell you from experience, when you finally hear the elephants’ roar and see the tips of their trunks make the turn out of the tunnel, it becomes one surreal party. Everyone cheers for them.

I finally got the date right in 2005!

Any unique events occur near you that are fun pass-alongs?

P O S T S C R I P T:  This yearly circus tradition has ceased, as of 2013.
